Mumbai: Stock markets closed with marginal features in a unstable commerce Thursday as traders booked earnings at larger ranges amid blended international cues.

After rising over 150 factors in early commerce, the benchmark BSE Sensex ended up by 2.72 factors, or 0.01 p.c, at 37,754.89, extending features to the fourth session.

The broader NSE Nifty closed with features of 1.55 factors, or 0.01 p.c, at 11,343.25.

Among the highest gainers within the Sensex pack, NTPC, IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, Yes Bank, Coal India, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Vedanta, Tata Steel and Kotak Bank rose as much as 3.53 p.c.

On the opposite hand, HCL Tech, Hero MotoCorp, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, PowerGrid, TCS, SBI and RIL had been among the many prime losers, falling as much as 2.16 p.c.

Sectorally, the BSE realty, metallic, telecom and healthcare indices ended the day within the inexperienced whereas IT, auto and energy indices settled within the purple.

Investors booked earnings in current gainers, weakening benchmark indices, merchants mentioned.

Strengthening features, the rupee on Thursday additional appreciated marginally to 69.51 in opposition to the US greenback intra-day.

Similarly, within the Eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX gained 0.43 p.c. Paris CAC 40 rose 0.69 p.c and London’s FTSE was up 0.46 p.c in early offers.

Global crude benchmark Brent crude futures rose 0.41 p.c to $67.83 per barrel.
