Om Birla unanimously elected as Lok Sabha Speaker, movement moved by Narendra Modi, seconded by Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: NDA nominee Om Birla was on Wednesday unanimously elected as speaker of the Lok Sabha with a number of events transferring a movement in his help.

There was no different candidate within the fray and the movement was moved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who can also be Leader of the House, to decide on the Kota-Bundi MP as Speaker which was adopted by a voice vote. “That Shri Om Birla, a member of the is House, be chosen because the Speaker of the this House,” learn the movement.

The movement was seconded by Defence minister Rajnath Singh.

A complete of 13 motions had been moved in help of Birla. Since the movement moved by Modi, additionally chief of the House, was adopted, the opposite motions turned infructuous. Birla was declared elected as speaker by pro-tem Speaker Virendra Kumar.

Modi led the brand new speaker to the presiding officer’s chair. Leaders from the BJP, the Congress, the DMK and the TMC went up the rostrum to greet the 56-year-old new speaker of the Lower House.

The same movement was moved by Home minister and BJP president Amit Shah, which was supported by Union minister Nitin Gadkari. The Congress and the DMK had moved notices for the same movement. But the notices had been issued after 12 pm Tuesday, the deadline. As a particular case, pro-tem Speaker Virendra Kumar allowed the motions to be moved.

Birla, who received his first Lok Sabha election in 2014, was once more elected this 12 months from Rajasthan’s Kota-Bundi seat.
