The week started with gadgets occupying the tech news space, and it continues to do so. The last day of October was occupied with smartphone leaks starting with the much awaited OnePlus 5T. The Oppo F5 due to launch in India on November 2 was teased on Flipkart today. The highlight of the day was the Nokia 2 launch, HMD Global’s most affordable smartphone. Xiaomi had another achievement to flaunt. Ending the day on a light note, WhatsApp officially rolled out its ‘Delete for everyone’ feature.

Oneplus 5T leaked, teased again

Adding to its bag of leaks, we got a glimpse of the possible front design of the OnePlus 5T. The smartphone as rumored has almost no bezels on the sides with a very thin upper bezel housing the front camera. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei also teased a sample photo on Twitter showing off the Portrait Mode on possibly the OnePlus 5T. The OnePlus 5T is expected to launch anytime soon.

Oppo F5 teased on Flipkart

Oppo had recently launched its latest selfie-centric smartphone, Oppo F5. The smartphone will launch in India on November 2. Flipkart has now teased the Oppo F5 ahead of its official launch hinting on the possibility that the smartphone will be exclusive to the e-commerce platform. You can also watch the live stream of the Oppo F5 launch event on the Flipkart page. The Oppo F5’s highlight is its front 20-megapixel camera, which is powered by artificial intelligence.

Nokia 2 launched

HMD Global’s most affordable offering, the Nokia 2 was launched globally today in India. The smartphone is priced at 99 Euros (approximately Rs 7,500), and will go on sale sometime in mid-November. The Nokia 2 features a 5-inch HD Gorilla Glass 3 display, and runs Snapdragon 212 SoC under its hood. It comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and is fueled by a massive 4,100mAh battery.

Xiaomi ships 10 million smartphones again

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun today shared the company’s latest achievement of shipping 10 million smartphones for the second time. Xiaomi had achieved this feat in September as well in India. Xiaomi’s expanding offline presence in China and India has possibly contributed to the increasing numbers. Xiaomi currently has 200 Mi Home stores in China, and plans to setup 100 Mi Homes in India within two years.

WhatsApp’s ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature is here

WhatsApp today announced the rollout of its ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and desktop as well. This feature essentially allows you to ‘revoke’ a message within seven minutes of sending it. If the recipient hasn’t read the message, then it will be deleted from their notification panel and chat history on WhatsApp. You need to update WhatsApp to the latest version to start using the feature.
