Initially often called Google Now, the widget would show playing cards, just like the climate or sport scores. Offering a short forecast, present stats, or information, it allowed customers to see a fast glimpse of knowledge related to them with out opening the app.

With the shift to the article-based Google Feed (now Google Discover), the widget was renamed, and misplaced most of its performance. It’s been damaged for the previous few months, and solely often shows a climate card

Again in June, we noticed in Google app 8.12 that the widget was near deprecation, with in-development strings pointing customers to the brand new At a Look widget as a alternative. Along with displaying the temperature and situation, it all the time notes the day and date, in addition to upcoming calendar appointments and flights.

On the latest Google app, customers that also have the Feed widget on their homescreen are seeing a deprecation immediate:

Searching for climate, calendar, and different updates? Set up the brand new At-a-Look widget.

A Learn More hyperlink takes customers to a help doc that particulars how you can place the brand new widget and take away the previous one. In the meantime, on units just like the Pixel Three and Pixel Three XL, the Feed widget is not obtainable.

To get data like climate, calendar occasions, and upcoming flights in your House display, add the At-a-glance widget.

The At-a-glance widget replaces your Uncover widget. You might know the Uncover widget as the “Feed” or “Google Now” widget.
