Blake Bortles stays the Jaguars’ starter, for now


The Jacksonville Jaguars are sticking with quarterback Blake Bortles because the starter, the group introduced Monday night.

Coach Doug Marrone benched Bortles early within the second half of Sunday’s 20-7 home loss to Houston following his second misplaced fumble for backup Cody Kessler.

“I imagine he offers us one of the best alternative to win,” Marrone mentioned Monday. The Jaguars face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday morning in London.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday that Kessler will see reps this week in apply with the beginning offense, and Bortles might be on “a brief leash” for Sunday’s recreation.
