After BCCI complaint, police files case in Rs 80 lakh fraud over selection in Ranji teams
New Delhi: Three aspiring Delhi cricketers had allegedly paid Rs 80 lakh on the promise that they’d be chosen within the Ranji Trophy groups of three states, however had been as an alternative given pretend choice letters, a case relating to which has been lodged after cricket board BCCI filed a police criticism, officers stated Wednesday.

The case of dishonest was registered after BCCI’s regional integrity supervisor of its Anti Corruption Unit Anshuman Upadhyay said that they’ve obtained three complaints from Kanishk Gaur and Kishan Attri of Rohini and Shivam Sharma from Gurgaon.

They had been allegedly duped of Rs 80 lakh on the pretext of getting them chosen within the Ranji Trophy groups of Nagaland, Manipur and Jharkhand, police stated.

Gaur informed police that he was approached by a cricket coach final 12 months who provided him to play within the Ranji Trophy staff of Nagaland as a visitor participant, a senior police officer stated.

He later known as him to fulfill the official coach of the Nagaland cricket staff and a few members of their board. He was requested to pay Rs 15 lakh for 5 matches, the officer stated.

But after enjoying two matches for the under-19 staff of Nagaland, he was requested to not play and when he inquired, he was informed that his choice letter was cast, the officer stated.

Around eleven folks, together with coaches in addition to state cricket board members are being questioned in reference to the case, police stated.
