A sneak peek into Nani’s success! An assistant director to Natural Star
A die-hard fan of Mani Ratnam dreamed to become a director. He started his career as a clap assistant for legendary director Bapu’s ‘Radha Gopalam’ and wanted to wield megaphone like his idol one day. He even worked as an assistant director for a few films. But destiny had other plans. He got an opportunity as the second hero in a film and eventually he was made the main lead. Cut to 2017, he is now one of the most sought after young actors in Tollywood and is fondly called ‘Natural Star’. He is none other than Nani.
Nani’s journey would be inspiring to many. He has seen ups and downs in his acting career. After impressing with his superb acting skills in films like ‘Ashta Chamma’, ‘Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu’, ‘Pilla Zamindar’, ‘Alaa Modalaindi’ etc, he hit jackpot by working with Rajamouli and Gautham Menon in the same year.
Though ‘Eega’ was a big hit and Nani was appreciated for his performance, the success credit went to Rajamouli. ‘Yeto Velli Poyindhi Manasu’ was critically acclaimed, but didn’t do well at the box-office as expected. Then his career hit a rough patch. He had faced failures like ‘Aha Kalyanam’ and ‘Paisa’. He was written off and many felt his career hit a dead end. Though ‘Jenda Pai Kapiraju’ was also a commercial failure, ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ released on the same day gave a new lease of life to his career. Then it was with ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoi’, he joined the league of big actors. The film was a huge hit and raked in huge numbers at the box-office.
Nani’s popularity grew leaps and bounds with BBM and he scored a hat-trick with ‘Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha’, which has been declared a blockbuster. His next films Majnu, Gentle Man and recently released Ninnu Kori turned big blockbusters in his career and he is growing by leaps and bounds in his career. He is currently shooting for MCA, which features Sai Pallavi as the female lead and produced by Dil Raju.
He is also in talks for a few films. Now Nani’s dream is to act in the direction of his inspiration Mani Ratnam. A film is in discussion now and let’s hope it will take off soon.
